precision, geometrical, symbolic

Labyrinth is the remake of Overdose, a show made in 2010. It was not the first and last time Eva experimented with props, such as poles and sticks. She wanted to explore the topics of addiction and dependence, so the long black pipes vary between connecting and separating the dancers, between helping them or putting an obstacle in their way. The poles not only serve as practical tools to build bridges between or hold apart the performers, but they also play a strong visual role in shaping geometrical structures, or dividing the space into different plains, or exaggerating the ranges of the movements. Through very accurately designed sequences we get to see some universal characters as they try to step out of the strict constraints of a system.
