Choreographer: Éva Duda

misty, picturesque, monochrome

Based on the well known music composition of Mussorgsky, the Pictures At an Exhibition, Eva Duda created an ambitious piece, which aimed to draw a parallel between the memories of old times and the zeitgeist of the present. This was the first time she immersed herself in the relationship between historical oppression and today’s powers that be and the means oppressors use. The piece itself consists of only loosely related scenes, without any overlapping storyline, each of the scenes examining the main topic from a different point of view. But they are all picturesque and use a wide range of techniques and props, such as long coats, pointed shoes, smoke, sculptures, infrared- lights. The shows movement forms are extremely diverse, bringing ballet and contemporary dance together, combining mime and live statues.
