Simeon’s rehearsal news
Company dancer Tamás is standing on one foot in the middle of the room. Marci is pacing around with focused attention. He has a mysterious half-smile, more hidden than visible. Sarkadi’s text begins – the speaker is neither János, the protagonist of the drama, nor Simeon, and not even one of the other participants. In fact, it is all of them at the same time: a kind of condensed, complex non-existent figure, whose words are tightly interwoven by the philosophies of different lives. Its words are tense, an intimate, yet impersonal search for the truth linking the great absolute to the pathetic problems of our everyday lives.
