FEVER – Two performances with international choreographers in one evening

Gregor Luštek and Rosana Hribar (slo) : Does it Start with a Kiss?
Máté Mészáros: Unknown Kingdom

The company has invited internationally based choreographers who share the its interest in physical dance and create a unique style of movements full of passionate dynamism. For the two one-act dance pieces company members divided into two different teams, one of them a trio together with Slovenian artist couple Gregor Luštek and Rosana Hribar, while the other worked with Máté Mészáros, who has held workshops for Éva Duda Dance Company on multiple occasions. The two performances present different challenges to the dancers, one of them exploring the development of our relationships using witty solutions and accurate dynamics, while the other examines the generation gap through personal filters.

Part I

Gregor Luštek and Rosana Hribar (slo) : Does it Start with a Kiss?

All for one, one for all – how does this principle unfold in reality and how does it change throughout an actual choreography? How much are individuals dependent and who or what do they depend on? Who takes what from who and why? Who dances as they are telling something and who dances as they are being told? Who speaks when on stage and what is being told? The authors’ world of movements resembles the passionate intimacy of tango, representing the characters’ relations with a pinch of humour.

Part II

Máté Mészáros: Unknown Kingdom

„I look into the mirror and what I see is the reflection of a distorted reality. There is an inner landscape unfolding in front of my eyes. My reflection is inhabited by the long gone infant and my deep wrinkles picture me in the moment right before I‘m gone. This is a kingdom with no limits and rules where I wander day after day to hunt my memories and desires. My childhood echoes in an oblivious laughter as I open the door for you with an old man’s trembling hand.
Welcome to the Unknown Kingdom.“
